Here's a guide for how to do some sorvyvin around here. It's a bunch of tips and tricks, but it works.
1: Check those logs!
This is the absolute most a very important thing to do. In "Maintenance pages," you'll see a large set of special links to stuff that may need to be fixed. The best pages to see in all of the wiki are (and what to do):
- For Special:BrokenRedirects, you can, y'know, change the stuff.
- For Special:DeadendPages, please see if it's okay to add links.
- Same goes for Speical:LonleyPages, just vice versa'd.
- Special:WithoutInterwiki is for interwikis, places INSIDE of wikis (later).
- Special:UncategorizedPages shows all pages that are running around uncaught. PUT THEM IN A CATEGORY!
- This is a big one: Special:WantedPages. These are pages with many links that are to be made: they are not even in the womb yet. Maybe I should have not said that. Just make them, alright?
- Special:TrackingCategories shows stuff that's been fricked up.
- Special:ListFiles or clicking "Upload file" on the navbar deals with files.
- Special:Log is pretty obvious.
