a.k.a., me plagerizing from https://wiiu.hacks.guide.

Make sure you have a (at least 32GB) SD card, and the WiiU can connect to the internet.
Also update your console (for me it's 5.5.6).
Setup files

Take the SD card out of your system.
Go to this site and scroll down and check all the check-boxes, then press on the "Download Payloads" and "Download Base Aroma" buttons.
Extract the "WiiU" folders from the .ZIP files to the SD card. If your computer says that you need to overwrite files, click yes.
Exploit
Put the SD card back into your WiiU and turn it on.
Go to wiiuexploit.xyz on the WiiU and press on "Run Exploit!", hold B until you see a screen that says: "Please choose your payload".
If you see a screen that says "EnvironmentLoader", you didn't hold down B long enough.
Gotta take a dump!
Scroll down to "nanddumper" and press A.
Use the d-pad to select this configuration:
Dump SLC: Yes Dump SLCCMPT: Yes Dump MLC: Optional Dump OTP: Yes Dump SEEPROM: Yes
Press A to dump these files,
Once it's done turn off the console and put the SF card into your computer,
Copy the slc.BIN, slccmpt.BIN, seeprom.BIN, and otp.BIN files to a safe place. if there are mlc.BIN.PART files, save those too.
Once you have coped them onto your computer, delete them from the SD card to make space.
Install the hacks
Put the SD card back into your Wiiu and turn it on.
Redo the steps from Exploit, but hold X this time.

Press A to select Boot Options.
Press A on Switch to PayloadLoader.
Press A again to shut down the console.
Finishing installation
Setup Aroma
Go into EnvironmentLoader either by opening the Health and Safety app (skipping the last thing) or turning on your console.
Use the Dpad and press Y to default, and A to open.
If you get a red screen about updates not being blocked, we're going to fix that soon.
Anyways, select the WiiU Menu from the boot menu and press A.
(To boot into this menu, hold down the start/+ button on boot, if you autobooted.)
Blocking updates
Turn off your console and put in your SD card.
Go to here and download the .WUHB file.
Put it into the wiiu/apps folder on the SD card.
Put the SD card back into the console and boot Aroma.
Run the WiiU menu and launch the UFDiine app and press A.
If it says that the update folder had been deleted, woohoo!
Exit UFDiine. The red screen is gone.
Good apps to install
Download this and this (the wiiu-extracttosd.ZIP) file
Copy the contents of both ZIP files to the SD card, not in any folders.
To use bluetooth controlers, download the Bloopair ZIP file.
Copy the 30_bloopair.RPX file to the wiiu/environments/aroma/modules/setup folder.
Copy the wiiu folder (from the ZIP file) to the SD card, not in any folders.
